Rio de Janeiro might just be my favourite place in the world. We’ve always had a travel crush on Christ the Redeemer, it was at the top of our travel bucket list for a long time and we were mesmerized when we finally made it to the top of Corcovado and stood in front of the giant statute.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio is a vibrant city and is breathtakingly beautiful from the iconic Copacabana Beach to the mountainside favelas. It’s hard not to fall in love!

  1. What lovely photos 🙂 Where did you stay in Rio? I was there during the World Cup, so accommodation was ridiculously expensive! We stayed in Rocinha favela, which was quite an experience! I’m guessing you got up nice and early to get a good picture of the steps without a million tourists in the way? We first went at 11am, then returned the next day at 7am to get decent photos!

    • That’s sounds amazing Emily, the atmosphere must have been incredible! We stayed in Copacabana but thankfully had a lot of hotel points to put to use! Is it the Selaron steps? They were so quiet when we went, we hung out with Selaron for a while! At Christ the Redeemer we went twice – we got engaged the first day so I had to go back and see them again to get over the shock! It was definitely early!
