The Hill of Crosses, a collection of over 200,000 wooden crosses erected on a small hill in Šiauliai in Northern Lithuania, is one of the most spectacular sights in the Baltic countries. It is located 12 km outside of the city of Siaulia and is easily accessible by train and bus from Vilnius and by bus from Riga and Kaunas. From Siaulia, it is a short taxi or bus ride to the Hill of Crosses or the journey can be made by bike or walking when the weather permits. How to get to the Hill of Cross from Vilnius
The Hill of Crosses is located 12km outside of Siauliai. Siauliai is easily accessible by train and bus from Vilnius.
By train to Siauliai:
Train from Vilnius to Siauliai :The Hill of Crosses is 12km outside of Siauliai. Three morning trains leave Vilnius for Siauliai between 5am and 10am and the journey to Siauliai takes around 2.5hours. The evening trains return to Vilnius around 6pm and 7pm which leaves plenty of time to visit the Hill of Crosses in between – check out Lithuanian Railways for the latest train latest times.
By bus to Siauliai:

From Siauliai to Hill of Crosses:
- Bus from Siauliai to Domantai: At Siauliai train station, take the 12 bus from Siauliai to Joniškis and ask the driver for the Domantai stop. Buses are quite infrequent returning from the site so it may be easier to request a taxi at the Visitors Centre to travel back to Siauliai.
- Taxi, walk or bike from Siauliai to Hill of Crosses: Another option is to rent a taxi and have the driver wait for you although this is a more expensive – 25 Euro seems to be a reasonable estimate for pricing. If you like cycling, many visitors rent bikes to make the journey during the summer months.

Driving to the Hill of Crosses
