Langham Hotel, London: Hotel Review

It was time for a London mini break with my lovely mum and we were in the mood for some luxury! Having had an amazing stay at the Langham Chicago we opted to try out its London property, the Langham London. Shopping, sightseeing and good food were the order of the day as we arrived in London and we were looking forward to some Langham rest and relaxation to recover from our London adventures. Langham London we’re on our way!

The Langham London

We were swooning over the Langham building from the moment we arrived and the luxurious interior of the hotel more than lived up to its grand exterior. The lobby set the scene perfectly for the rest of our hotel experience and, after an efficient check in, we were on our way to our room within a few minutes.

The Bedroom

We opted for the basic room, a standard Grand, and the room was plush and comfortable. The bed was by far the best part and it was so cosy I struggled to tear myself away from it in the mornings! Like most London hotel rooms space is at a premium but there was still plenty of room to move around and the bathroom was spacious and luxuriously fitted out.

Food and Drinks

The sounds of an awesome jazz band in action in the Palm Court drew us in and we opted for some casual food and drinks after a hard day of shopping! The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious and the service was excellent. We loved the Palm Court setting so much we ended up lingering for an hour or so after dinner to relax and listen to the music.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was served in both the Palm Court and the Roux at the Landau. We decided to sample each on alternative mornings. Both were excellent but the a la carte service at the Roux was a real treat. We loved relaxing at our table over the morning newspaper while having a gorgeous selection of foods served to us. Bliss!

We loved the atmosphere in the restaurants and bars in the hotel. The Palm Court and Roux at the Landau had a relaxed and fun vibe and a special mention must be given to the hopping Artesian bar. The cocktails were exquisite, which one would expect at £20 a pop, but it was a fantastic experience. It’s so good a waitlist is often neccessary!

Facilities

The public areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated and the swimming pool is one of the absolute highlights of the hotel. I was almost convinced that I had a private pool on one early morning swim! We also took a well deserved dip in the Jacuzzi (amazing) and used the business lounge for printing our boarding passes.

Location

The location is fantastic for a London mini break and we took full advantage of being minutes away from Oxford Circus! It was amazing being so close to the sights and shopping!

Overall

We had a gorgeous stay at the Langham London and it was a luxurious and relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of Central London. The hotel manages to combine an old world traditional charm with modern luxury and excels at both. We were completely at home from the second we arrived and only wish we had longer to explore the spa, club lounge and maybe a spot of afternoon tea!
